Privacy

I am not collecting any information about you at this website. In fact, you can’t give me any information through this website even if you want to. Also, I am not knowingly placing any cookies or other files on your computer. If I learn otherwise I will turn off such placement if I can and/or update this privacy information as necessary.

The web hosting company, Hostgator.com, a subsidiary of the Endurance International Group, collects some data. Their privacy policy, which I as a subscriber to their services was required to acknowledge and accept in order to set up this web site, says they can collect “Metadata about how your [i.e., my] customers, contacts, and users interact with the Services we provide you.” For further information on what data they can gather about site users such as yourself, please see their privacy policy for their web hosting subscribers: https://www.endurance.com/privacy/.

I have set up some simple analytics so I can learn how much traffic the site is seeing. However, I receive no individual information from that. The closest thing to individual information that I receive is identification of countries from which users visited the site. The analytics are provided by WordPress.com. They are also collecting some data. They have a web page dedicated to their implementation of the General Data Privacy Regulation, the European Union privacy law that has become the international data privacy standard. Their web page for the GDPR as it relates to users of their web software (e.g., me, and by extension, you) is found at: https://wordpress.com/support/your-site-and-the-gdpr/. The page has further links to more specific privacy information.
